With the deployment of its urban Wi-Fi network, Toronto Hydro Telecom has announced the introduction of One Zone service packages, which take effect today.
During the free trial period, users bought into the concept with the highest usage of the network being Monday to Friday between 2 pm and 5 pm., the company said in a statement.
The areas of One Zone that had the highest traffic include the area behind Toronto city hall where there are hotels and university residences as well as the financial district.
Customers with Wi-Fi-enabled devices who live, work or are visiting downtown Toronto in the One Zone service area can subscribe to one of the three different packages, payable by credit card: $4.99 an hour, $9.99 per day or $29 a month.
Usernames and passwords issued during the free trial that has been in effect since September will become invalid, effective 11:59 pm tonight.
New user names and passwords can be user generated once pre-payment for One Zone service has been made.
