Schneider’s HyperPod rack system speeds up IT deployments

Schneider Electric has released HyperPod, a rack ready system it said is designed to deploy IT in increments of eight to 12 racks. With HyperPod, the company added that it is addressing the demand for greater compute capacity and flexible data centre architectures in today’s fast-paced digital world.
Part of Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure for Data Centre architecture, HyperPod’s design supports all of today’s rack types, the company said. It added in a release that “its pod style architecture, with integrated power, cooling, cabling, software management and containment, enables racks of IT equipment to roll into place, similar to a docking station, without the complexity and time associated with traditional IT deployments.
“Our customers wanted a streamlined and more cost-efficient way to deploy IT, one that keeps up with the pace of business” said Steven Carlini, senior director of innovation at Schneider. “With deployment times up to 21% faster, HyperPod delivers 15-20% per cent savings in time and costs over traditional approaches.”
EcoStruxure for Data Centres is part of Schneider Electric EcoStruxure, an open, interoperable, IoT-enabled system made up of three core layers:
*Connected Products: At the base level are connected products that collect and distribute information, from innovative connected circuit breakers to meters.
*Edge Control: The second level is comprised of solutions that enable real-time control of operations to maximize system reliability. For example, EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert allows tracking of real-time power conditions to help improve efficiency and reliability; and EcoStruxure Power SCADA Operation provides data-acquisition monitoring while improving the power availability of electrical distribution networks.
*Apps, Analytics and Services: At the third level are apps, analytics and services that allow customers to make informed and timely decisions to ensure reliability, reduce costs and boost efficiency. For example, EcoStruxure Asset Advisor services deliver predictive analytics to help ensure a company’s critical operations are operating safely and securely.
