SAP, IBM announce HR software integration plan

SAP SE and IBM Corp. today announced cloud-to-cloud integration of each of their human resources (HR) software and services.
The two said in a release the integration will help organizations improve their business processes and make fact-based decisions more smoothly and simply about how they recruit and manage their workforces.
The announcement was made at SAPPHIRE NOW, being held this week in Orlando, Fla.
With availability planned for mid-2015, the first offering includes a planned integration between the SuccessFactors Employee Central software and IBM Kenexa’s cloud-based HR software Talent Acquisition Suite.
In other news, SAP announced:
* A new joint offering with HP that revolves around SAP Business Suite 4 SAP HANA (SAP S/4HANA) utilizing HP Helion. In addition, HP will serve as a strategic provider of cloud infrastructure services for business-critical SAP applications in SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud.
* SAP Digital for Customer Engagement, a cloud customer relationship management (CRM) offering “designed to meet the needs of individuals and small teams, but with enterprise-grade capabilities for both.”
* Upgrades to SAP Lumira and SAP Predictive Analytics software, which the company said will enable organizations to do more with their data insights.
Meanwhile, SAP CEO Bill McDermott announced during a keynote that Google and SAP are working together to help “Simplify Work,” “Improve Productivity” and “Extend Collaboration” among enterprise employees no matter where they choose to work. Key areas of collaboration with Google will revolve around enterprise mobility, business analytics and business applications.
