Genband, a provider of real time communications (RTC) offerings, today said that its communications as a Service (cPaaS) Kandy has won the “Innovation” category in the 2015 World Communications Awards.
“The digital economy is upending the way business is done, and innovation is the only way to succeed in this new world,” said Paul Pluschkell, executive vice president of strategy and cloud services for Genband and founder of the cPaas. “Kandy is helping businesses remake, remap and remodel their digital outcomes for growth.”
According to Genband, Kandy’s communications capabilities allow anyone from Communications Service Providers (CSPs) and global enterprises to individual developers to embed new functionality, create and deploy new services, and enhance workflows.
Leveraging Kandy frees customers and ecosystem partners such as SAP, Masergy and Tech Mahindra from lengthy R&D cycles, delivering massive economic benefits and extensive agility, Genband said in a release.
Launched in 1999, the World Communications Awards honor innovation, merit and outstanding performance in global telecoms. This year, more than 5,000 telecom professionals entered or voted in the categories.
The Innovation award recognizes the organization that has developed a truly innovative technology that has been commercially deployed and has the potential for a far-reaching effect on the market as well as demonstrated market uptake.
