Draka Comteq, a supplier of optical fiber cabling, announced today a new line of cables optimized for the more frequent mid-entry and handling of today’s distribution network.
According to the company, EZ Prep Loose Tube and EZ Span ADSS (All-Dielectric Self-Support) cables can provide time and labour savings of 30% or more by simplifying cable entry and preparation.
Network migration toward deep fiber architectures is driving the need for unplanned access to fiber in the middle of point-to-point distribution cables — reducing total deployment cost and planning requirements, it said.
The cables are available with Draka Comteq’s ESMF, BendBright and TeraLight singlemode fibers as well as MaxCap and HiCap multimode fibers.
“In deep fiber networks the biggest impact on the bottom line is reducing labor cost and complexity,” said Allen Griser, the firm’s director of marketing.
