Forbes magazine today announced Vancouver-based CEO Ian Crosby has clinched a top spot on its 2016 “30 Under 30” list. Crosby, 29, is the co-founder and CEO of Bench, the tech company automating accounting tasks for small businesses. Recognized for the advancements the company has made in the accounting space and for the work he’s done for fellow entrepreneurs, Crosby took top spot in the Enterprise Technology category.
“This accolade is testament to the fact that a tech company does not have to be in California to succeed,” said Crosby.
Growing from a team of four founders to 200 employees in just three years, Crosby has kept all of Bench’s operations in-house, in downtown Vancouver.
The company’s focus for 2016 includes new service rollouts, increased automation and a launch of the Bench mobile app. Crosby plans to continue onboarding 10 new employees a month to meet demand.
Bench is a three-year-old tech company that specializes in automating accounting tasks, specifically bookkeeping. Bench pairs business owners with a professional North American bookkeeping team and accounting software.
Bookkeeping teams are available to clients via phone, email, or in-app messaging. By integrating live bookkeepers into their software experience, Bench says it combines the convenience and efficiency of modern technology with the expertise and time-savings afforded by a professional service.
